Wow! What model Tommy do you have, how heavy is it and what suspension are you running?! 😀

We have the S4, but we have an additional box at the front. The GVM is 3.9T and we are right on the limit when fully loaded. The suspensions are Lovels, not sure of the spelling… the 79 is a beast. We had a hilux before, great car but the Tommy was too heavy for it…

Awesome, I had a look at those a few years ago. They look like a great option. Similar to the Alu-Cab camper. That is a great starting weight, a lot less metal is needed for the sides. We have never taken our Tommy off, so being mounted to the tub wouldn’t be an issue. How have you found the camper in general?

​@GeorgeSoan it's new to us and we're still fitting out tub. With the bed being able to be pushed up out of the way, it provides standing room in the full tub area. Our vehicle is a Jeep Gladiator, so off road ablity was important. We've just completed a GVM upgrade which now allows the weight to be added. We looked at Alu Cab though didn't like the checker plate look and not having a tailgate. The Alu Cab does have more length to the bed which means you don't have to drop the access hatch to complete the sleep platform.

@@Dave_Gurman interesting, everything has its pros and cons. I think they look great and I like the look of the matte finish too. If you make a video on the setup, I’d be keen to have a look. That weight saving will be a massive help off-road. Enjoy the new setup!

I use to have a GoPro 10, but had a few issues. DJI isn’t amazing in low light, but it is better than my old GoPro 10. I’m hoping the Action 5 will have a bigger sensor and better low light performance! 🤞

Thanks, appreciate it! Good to hear, the mics are a game changer for me. Yeah I didn’t have a great experience with my GoPro 10, hence the switch. Agreed, Samsung make some incredible cameras, especially on the zoom range. This year was the closest I’ve come to switching to the s24 ultra. However, I’m in too deep with the Apple ecosystem (mainly AirDrop to my Mac and sharing photos with Rach). Totally understand that with the phone vs camera (I have a Sony A6700). I mainly use my phone but when I want that extra quality (especially with wildlife), then the camera is amazing to have!

@@GeorgeSoan phone v DLSR - When travelling I find the phone useful when inside, like in museums, churches etc, a lot less obvious and discrete, but outdoors I brought out the big guns (I am a Canon fan) for the landscape and townscapes. It's hard to not use the Canon for these shots as I came from the SLR film world. Can't wait for the next instalment of your weekly vids

My backpack would be a lot lighter without a “proper camera”, but I carry it for those scenarios where you just need more than what a phone can do! Thanks, appreciate it.
